TLC for kids is a registered charity, working with healthcare professionals to deliver Australia’s fastest, most individually tailored support to children and their families in hospitals.

How we help

We help by providing emergency distractions to nurture the emotional wellbeing of kids undergoing medical treatment. We assist any child, with any health related condition (including injury from accidents), which means no deserving child is overlooked.

Why we’re different

There are no waiting lists at TLC for kids, and in 12 years we’ve never turned away a single request for RAPID support. All requests are met within 48 hours, sometimes even within the hour, so that the child and their family gets the support when it matters most. We sometimes refer to our service as ‘the fire brigade of children’s charities!’

TLC for kids also provides assistance as many times as the child or family requires. We support children even if they have been helped by another charity in the past, and by steering clear of ‘wish granting’ we ensure our kids remain eligible to receive help in future by other charities. We operate this way as a result of years of close interaction and communication with hospitals, who keep us informed of where the gaps are forming, and what’s really needed in wards.
